From a local fraternity called Phi Kappa Alpha to the chapter that hosts the region's leadership summit — here is how Epsilon Iota got here.
Our history
How the chapter was built
- 1929
It starts as Phi Kappa Alpha
A local fraternity forms at what is now the University of Central Missouri — the group that becomes our chapter.
- 1931
Chartered as Iota of Phi Sigma Epsilon
The chapter is chartered and grows into one of the strongest groups in Phi Sigma Epsilon’s Missouri corridor.
- 1985
The merger
Phi Sigma Epsilon merges into Phi Sigma Kappa on August 14. Our chapter becomes Epsilon Iota, carrying its Warrensburg history into the modern Fraternity.
- Today
The brotherhood, not the building
The chapter no longer holds a house. Brothers meet on campus, host the student-run Regional Leadership Summit, and keep the line open to alumni across the country.

The friendships made in Warrensburg were never supposed to end at graduation. This is how we keep that promise.
To Stimulate Scholarship
Alumni-funded scholarships and study support keep the classroom first for the men wearing the letters now.

Ritual, service, and accountability — the same standard we were held to, passed forward.

Service
Special Olympics
Special Olympics International is the service partner of Phi Sigma Kappa, chosen by delegates to the 55th General Convention.
Epsilon Iota brothers volunteer at Special Olympics Missouri competitions and raise money for the organization through the year. It is the clearest expression of what the Fraternity asks of us, and alumni are welcome at every service day.
